Revolt!

Revolt!

Pull up a chair and have a seat because I’m about to break some hearts. You know why?

BECAUSE I’M BEING SO INCREDIBLY REAL WITH YOU WHEN I SAY THAT THE FOOD INDUSTRY DOES NOT HAVE YOUR BEST INTEREST AT HEART!!

In fact, they would love nothing more than to manipulate you into being addicted to their food, regardless of the cost to your heart health.

Can’t live without that McDonald’s fountain diet coke?

They know there’s something different about it that you just can’t put your finger on. That bottled diet coke doesn’t taste the same, and don’t even bother going elsewhere for a fountain version – it won’t come close. Their paycheck depends on your man-made addiction.

Bought those “natural” chicken nuggets for the kiddos because they’re obviously healthier than the rest?

CHUCK ‘EM.

There’s nothing natural about a chicken nugget. But if you can grab a chicken and show me exactly where the nugget is on a chicken, I’ll eat my words.

In the next few posts, I’ll transpose my absolute disgust for the food industry into educational nuggets (the natural kind) to help you become an educated consumer. And maybe I’ll light a fire in you as well. Because let’s be honest, the food industry doesn’t want you to know the truth.

For now, I’ll leave you with this…

Trans fats are the worst kind of fats you can eat. They’re manmade, which is your first sign that they’re trouble. They increase your bad cholesterol and decrease the good. Essentially, they’re satan’s choice of fat. And the food industry knows this so they’ve started labeling foods as “trans fat free” or “0 grams trans fat”.

DON’T TRUST THEM.

In actuality, they can claim “0 grams trans fat” if there’s less than 0.5 grams per serving (because the food industry definitely complies with the rules of rounding). That’s fine, but what if the average person consumes more than the recommended serving size?  Welp, you’re consuming trans fat.

And that’s just another reason to eat food and not food products.
